Monte Carlo Sharm El Sheikh Resort is a 5-star hotel along a 500-metre private sandy beach, on the southern shores of the Sinai Peninsula.

There are six pools—some are heated between December and February—including a Lazy River in the landscaped garden. Relax at the spa, which has a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam bath, and treatment rooms for massage and beauty therapies (chargeable).

You can play tennis, darts, work out in the gym, and join yoga classes or volleyball games. The PADI-certified dive centre offers courses, excursions, and snorkelling equipment (fees apply). Daytime and evening entertainment are also provided.

Late risers will appreciate breakfast until 12 noon, and those peckish at night can dine until 5am at a select venue. Buffet meals are served at the Le Café. Your package also covers à la carte options at the Egyptian, Lebanese, Indian, Asian, and grill restaurants (reservations required; available five times per person, per stay). Four bars are at hand for drinks 24 hours a day between them. Snacks and afternoon tea, plus daily replenished minibar are also included.

You'll stay in an air-conditioned, soundproofed room that measures approximately 50 square metres. It has a sea-view private balcony or terrace right near the beach, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
